Hey! I LOVE This book! I bought it at a Scholastic book fair, and couldn’t put it down. I locked my self in my room until I finished it. 🙂 I have been learning guitar for about a month and a half, so having the lyrics and chords in the back was genius! I can almost play “Guilty” already! This book inspired me so much! I was like Lyla when it came to writing songs, I had to have it in my brain, but now it’s so much easier! Thanks, and great work! –the “singing pilot”
I loved your book and songs so much that it has inspired me to write one of my own. Today I went up to my room, grabbed my guitar, and just thrummed and my soul had never felt so free. —Kathryn
This message made me cry! Thrummingly yours, Mary Amato
Here’s a song from Sierra, inspired after reading Guitar Notes! Sierra, your song has everything…and I love the way you sing it. Keep thrumming!
I loved your book! It was one of the best books I ever read! I found it when I was looking for two books to buy at my school book fair and I read the back of this book and almost left without paying for it! The ending was a little sad, but I liked it. I got inspired by your book to write my own songs. I can’t wait to find out if its good! When I finish it I might send it to you. Thank you for writing this awesome book!-Reagan
Dear Reagan, your line about almost leaving without paying made me laugh. What a compliment! I hope you share your songs! –Mary Amato
Hello, My name is Lavender and I’m a little stuck on writing a song. I love to sing, but I want to sing songs I made not what others made. When I read your book I was so happy to read that Tripp and Lyla found a place to come to when they feel they need to play ( The Tree House). My other favorite part was when they got a gig at a wedding. Now back to the lyrics I’ve read everything on this web site and I can’t find anything to help me. So do you have any advise for me? If so I would love to hear it right away! Thank You, Lavender
Hi Lavender, here’s some info on writing lyrics.
